This course is designed for operations professionals, team leads, project managers, and aspiring Black Belts in banking and financial services who are ready to move beyond foundational DMAIC and take ownership of improvement projects. If you have completed the Yellow Belt course (or have equivalent experience with the DMAIC methodology) and want to lead projects rather than just support them, the Green Belt program will give you the statistical depth, project leadership skills, and stakeholder management capabilities to drive meaningful change across your organization. Whether you work in trade settlement, payments processing, KYC/AML compliance, or regulatory reporting, this course equips you to tackle complex, multi-variable problems that span teams and systems.
You will learn how to select and prioritize projects for maximum business impact, scope multi-stream improvement initiatives, conduct Measurement System Analysis to ensure your data is trustworthy, and apply advanced statistical tools including hypothesis testing (t-tests, chi-square, ANOVA), regression analysis, and Design of Experiments. Every concept is taught through the lens of banking operations — you will not find generic manufacturing examples here. Instead, you will work through scenarios involving settlement cycle time reduction, AML alert triage optimization, reconciliation break prediction, and KYC remediation across multiple banking divisions. The course also covers advanced SPC techniques, process capability studies, and the discipline of closing projects with validated financial benefits.
This course is completely free, self-paced, and builds directly on the Yellow Belt foundation. A solid understanding of the DMAIC phases, basic statistics (mean, standard deviation, control charts), and process mapping is assumed — if you need a refresher, complete the Yellow Belt course first. After finishing all seven modules, you will take a 30-question final exam. Achieve a score of 70% or higher to earn your Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Insight Centric — a credential that demonstrates your ability to independently lead data-driven improvement projects in financial services and prepare for Black Belt advancement.
